Our wonderful community here at Juliana Village came about thanks largely to the vision and drive of one man: Johan Logeman.

Fuelled by Johan’s desire to provide a safe, supportive environment for Dutch migrants in the later stages of their lives, years of fundraising by dedicated volunteers and countless donations finally saw his dream become a reality with the opening of Juliana Village in November 1980.

With a Dutchman’s love of vivid floral displays, Johan’s plans for the Village included the creation of our many beautiful gardens, inviting residents and visitors alike to enjoy a stroll along meandering pathways or to rest awhile on welcome benches beneath shady trees.
